Remember that lecture on growth and how amazingly no one (economists) seem to care or understand the maths on where it is going....we are well and truly on our way it seems....so maybe getting used to not using a car much is good preperation
If the inflation of fuel prices does start to race away to the point of a doubling time between 20 and 10 years (3.5% - 7%) things are going to get interesting.
So are the last 2 years increases, exceptional years, or just the rate of fuel price growth now?
If the growth of fuel cost stays anything like 2010-2011 per the below table (I don't know how reliable the Daily Mail figures are) fuel will be £120 a tank for the Micra, and £180 a tank for the Sharan in 5 years...yes, seriously, in 2016 it would cost twice as much to fill up....
