The exponential function

After just selling my car it makes you realise how much you take it for granted, being able to go anywhere you want, when you want. However, a break from having this luxury is a good thing I feel, it reminds you how terrible we are in our consumption of things, which really has to reduce, not keep growing the way it does....

Remember that lecture on growth and how amazingly no one (economists) seem to care or understand the maths on where it is going....we are well and truly on our way it seems....so maybe getting used to not using a car much is good preperation

If the inflation of fuel prices does start to race away to the point of a doubling time between 20 and 10 years (3.5% - 7%) things are going to get interesting.

So are the last 2 years increases, exceptional years, or just the rate of fuel price growth now?

If the growth of fuel cost stays anything like 2010-2011 per the below table (I don't know how reliable the Daily Mail figures are) fuel will be £120 a tank for the Micra, and £180 a tank for the Sharan in 5 years...yes, seriously, in 2016 it would cost twice as much to fill up....

The Woods....

....can heal

Thanks, see you again soon!

Yesterday....

....was a long day. After a pretty early start, the three hours from 8-11am were probably 3 of the longest hours I have ever had in my life. The waiting around wasn't the best and the outcome was, slightly frustrating and disappointing.

However, on reflection, it is only disappointing because of the trails and the lost opportunity to have fun riding my bike with friends there.

Ha - God Bless America!!!

On the plus side - the pm of the day was much more enjoyable, chilling down at Volt :)
Thanks for the company, the wheels, the tea (cheers Witch) and the chat, seriously made such a crappy day turn into something enjoyable, cheers Volt BMX!

Union treats

hunted down this spot last year for a look around. It was after the riding season so all was tarped down and snug for the winter. Its amazing how many more lines there are now, hopefully I'll get chance visit with my bike this summer

Day of reckoning....

Well, it's nearly here...its been a bit of an anxious wait, but tomorrow is the day of reckoning....

Will they, won't they..? By midday tomorrow I should know, if I will ever get to visit Texas, Colorada, the North West and PA, to name a few.

Fingers crossed then!!

Talking of PA, the woods just posted a random old mix of....

PsOTD = Tab-le

Joe @ Pretty Shady posted some good pics today :)

I like tables, perhaps they are the most versatile trick ever????

When done well, they have it all....in my view much more than any circusdirtjumpingcontesttrick people have to throw out nowadays to get noticed (yes I am old)

You can't buy style, as they say

Man down

Sorry to hear the news of Mr Yeagle, sounds like he is lucky to be sitting up talking to a camera.

So many guys, who can ride better than most anyone on earth, have had head injuries over the last few years

All I can say is don't always have the 'it will never happen to me attitude'

These la Source trails are something else....I'm sure I've seen a video where people are riding a perpetual line here...amazing building and riding skills for sure :)

poor trees

The Telegraph - Sudden Death for thousands of trees

Woods are, in my opinion, one of the nicest places you can possibly be....

Get out and enjoy some woods near you, in whatever way you can, just in case they aren't there one day

the drawback of so called education

Wonder if it will ever get to this, here in England?

I don't have a degree, I never used to think they were worth it, and I believe they are even less worth it nowadays....
